Myrtle Beach 2021 Spectacular Sunset
Just a simple video of an absolutely stunning sunset I witnessed in Myrtle beach this year. I know, I know, I often write about the beauty of a good sunrise, but I enjoy a good sunset too! They are just easier for me so maybe I don’t appreciate them as much? This one stood out! I hope you enjoy! If you’d like to get more time to enjoy life the way you would like without feeling guilty check out the three steps I’ve outlined to make more of your time your own! 3 Steps to prioritizing you (It’s free!)

My Bear Encounter, What It Taught Me About Life
Some moments just stick with you forever! This bear encounter was one of those moments. I was sixteen and we were spending our family vacation in Maine. This was pretty normal for us, and I usually enjoyed it. To be honest I enjoyed this one too, and I wound up with a story that has influenced me for much of my life. When it started though, I’ll admit I was a bit perturbed, and that was over a boy. This trip hadn’t been planned much in advance, and I wasn’t going to be home for our regularly scheduled phone call. I wasn’t able to let him know either. (Yeah, this…

3 reasons you need to make yourself take a vacation!
You really need a vacation. You know you do. I know you do, but you have all the reasons in the world that it can’t be done. It’s the wrong time. You don’t have enough money. Traveling with family is just so much harder than it was before kids. Well, I’m here to dispute all of that. You need one now, more than ever! No one else who isn’t in your home all day, every day has real perspective of what you actually have been doing all day, every day. They only see the times you purposefully clear in order to spend time with them. You know your job so…

Staying Fluid In My Plans to Enjoy the Beach!
Ok, so This trip was still all I wanted it to be, but the plans I had in place changed a bit. It is actually important to be able to be a bit fluid in your plans anyway. This trip was definitely a reminder of that skill. Of course it’s important to take care of your own needs, but be open to doing that in different ways than you may have planned. This is what I wrote before I went on my trip, while I was still in the planning stages. It’s an interesting comparison. I have generally prioritized planning any trips well since having children. It’s also important to…

Peaceful Moment With the Dolphins on the Beach
I made it back to the beach! This time when I was watching the dolphins I was more prepared to get some footage to share with you. I hope my adventure brings you some joy, inspiration and a peaceful moment dolphins on the beach! I kept it short and sweet this week in hopes it brings you the peace the dolphins brought me! If you enjoyed this post you may find my Sunrise Sessions or Silver Lake adventure interesting as well!

Vacation Road Trip! Just in time for a foliage show!
Obviously, this summer we haven’t gotten out a whole lot. As you may recall from a post I wrote in March we had just reached a point where it was a bit easier to go on slightly longer trips with or without the whole family. My husband could take time off easier, and we were, well, at least a little more comfortable financially. Our girls are all older, and easier to “manage” if you will. A trip for each of us I feel fairly confident with various combinations of leaving them home alone too. The only one I wouldn’t be quite ready for is Youngest being alone overnight. Eldest is…

5 Tips from my own relaxed homeschool
This year we have had an incredibly large jump in “enrollments” in home education. Even public school parents have had to adapt by using methods usually thought of as homeschool methods. Now, while I believe homeschool is homeschool, and not really the same as virtual school, or especially public school’s emergency version of virtual school I do realize there are similarities, and those who are “emergency schooling” could definitely do with some guidance. The beauty of home education is that there are countless ways to approach it. Options that have descriptions from school at home to unschooling are all legitimate choices. The most difficult ones to take part in are…

Silver Lake- A Day’s Adventure
So, my husband took a few days off this past weekend. He works a lot, so it stood out. While the girls and I are fine mostly staying near home he doesn’t sit still well. I prefer to make my outings “count.” I go further, but less often. This weekend he had an idea that ended up being a really good compromise. We drove a few hours south to go on a hike we had meant to do before Eldest was even born. (That’s almost 20 years ago!) Back to the past for me Silver Lake has always held a special place for me. It was my mom’s favorite hike,…

Mother’s Day Special- North Meets South- Drink Recipe
I by no means drink a lot- ok, a bit more while we’re all staying at home, but really not all that much. I do like to unwind with a drink every once in a while though. I’ve enjoyed mixing my own drinks since I couldn’t drink alcohol, and it was just juice. Since then, obviously, I’ve added a variety of alcohol to my repertoire. I couldn’t keep this one to myself- I call this drink recipe North meets South! The story behind North meets South! I added a new one while on my Myrtle Beach trip. While I was in Myrtle Beach I quite enjoyed my time. I highly…

40th Birthday Redo!
I hope this adventure inspires you! It definitely inspired me to get out of my comfort zone. Just a week later it served as a powerful reminder to embrace life as it comes, and don’t pass up an opportunity for an escapade! A weekend away! Last year’s 40th birthday was kind of a flop. Actually, it royally sucked. It wasn’t so much my birthday as events that transpired around my birthday. This year my husband was determined to make up for it. I’ve always enjoyed the timing of my birthday. At the beginning of March here it’s clear that winter hasn’t lost the battle yet, but If you know what…
