Eeek! My daughter went ahead and grew up!
Even if your kids are still a bit younger you know it’s coming. (Or maybe you wonder if it ever will) For me it’s actually here! It may even be a bit amplified since she’s also the one in our household who attends public school. My kid has turned 18, and will be graduating this year! Yes, she’s graduating in 2020! The idea of this is terrifying, and awesome at the same time! What an adventure! Current events make it even more of a landmark moment than it already was. Goals of a lifetime! I’ve been working toward these days since she was born. My main goal as a parent…

A New Camera- A Big Purchase For Me
I’ve always enjoyed photography as a hobby. As a kid my first camera was a Fisher price 35mm camera. It was actually pretty decent despite being a “kids” camera. In fact it performed until I was grown and moved out of my childhood home. In more recent years I always keep my phone’s camera handy and even chosen my cell phone around the camera attached to it. On my recent trip to Myrtle Beach I decided I want to do more with photography than I have been. That meant choosing a new camera and learning a few new skills… Many choices- Had to settle on one! I finally settled on…

My 5 tips for decluttering- make a real difference over time
I’ve spent a lot of time taking care of our home. Some seasons have been much more successful than others. It always feels nicer when my home feels less cluttered. These are some methods I’ve found that help with a job that sometimes feels like it never ends! Get everyone on the same page! Either individually or as a group have a talk with your family, especially those who are home more often. Unless everyone’s working toward a goal like this you probably won’t get any where. You’ll likely just go in circles. It will just lead to frustration. Stop bringing stuff into your home as much as possible. Ok,…

Mother’s Day Special- North Meets South- Drink Recipe
I by no means drink a lot- ok, a bit more while we’re all staying at home, but really not all that much. I do like to unwind with a drink every once in a while though. I’ve enjoyed mixing my own drinks since I couldn’t drink alcohol, and it was just juice. Since then, obviously, I’ve added a variety of alcohol to my repertoire. I couldn’t keep this one to myself- I call this drink recipe North meets South! The story behind North meets South! I added a new one while on my Myrtle Beach trip. While I was in Myrtle Beach I quite enjoyed my time. I highly…

Explore your space- Photography Fun Near Home
Come take a walk with me. Sometimes in life we find ourselves more homebound than we want to be. I found this spot right up the road from where I live. I thought you might enjoy taking a stroll. Maybe when we’re done you’ll find a place to inspire you! My girls are almost grown. They don’t keep me moving! So recently I’ve been really advocating getting out and doing something, anything, no matter how small for yourself. It’s really not a lesson I learned easily. I personally have an awful lazy streak and am a strong believer in working smarter not harder. Physical activity always came pretty naturally due…

40th Birthday Redo!
I hope this adventure inspires you! It definitely inspired me to get out of my comfort zone. Just a week later it served as a powerful reminder to embrace life as it comes, and don’t pass up an opportunity for an escapade! A weekend away! Last year’s 40th birthday was kind of a flop. Actually, it royally sucked. It wasn’t so much my birthday as events that transpired around my birthday. This year my husband was determined to make up for it. I’ve always enjoyed the timing of my birthday. At the beginning of March here it’s clear that winter hasn’t lost the battle yet, but If you know what…

Stay home orders across U.S.- The good and bad
Clearly our current state of affairs has led to many difficulties across the United States, and the world. Even beaches have been closed! There’s no doubt it has caused an abundance of stress, and fear. It has also led to a lot of extra time to think. Like many people around the world I find myself pondering this often. I’ve found myself considering that while there are lousy things that have happened to any one of us lately, there are some good things as well. Here are some of the ones I found most notable. 1st Bad: The first thing that really caught my attention from the beginning was the…

A Few Thoughts On Making Easter Easy!
Many of us are getting ready to celebrate a little Holiday we call Easter. It just so happens to be a season of rebirth for the whole world, well those of us in the Northern hemisphere anyway. It’s a time of year I really enjoy. I personally prefer to make it easy and interesting for myself each year- despite having a relatively large family. Food I personally have always enjoyed a large roast of some sort whenever we celebrate most big holidays. They feed a large crowd, and in my opinion, are actually pretty simple. For Easter that usually means a ham. I actually enjoy cooking, and have been the…
